Project Showcase

Take a deeper look at the eLearning solutions I’ve developed, each one designed with real learners in mind. â€‹Here, you’ll find examples of my work, the tools I used and the ability to dive in and take a look at my course designs. Take a look around, these projects highlight my approach to thoughtful, learner-centered design and my goal of making education more usable and impactful for everyone.

eLearning Course:
Inclusive by Design

Desktop computer displaying the course "Inclusive by Design: Tools and Tips for Designers and Educators" by Lauren Snowden, with a team huddle photo and a green background.

This project focused on the rapid design and deployment of a self-paced online course for University of California employees, aimed at increasing foundational knowledge in accessibility and inclusive learning design. The course was created using a blend of multimedia authoring and accessibility tools to ensure a universally designed experience that models best practices in digital inclusion.

Microcourse:
Four Core Principles of
Extension Teaching

Tablet screen displaying the course "4 Core Principles of Extension Teaching" by Lauren Snowden, featuring two people smiling and gardening together among colorful flowers.

This standalone microcourse on the Four Core Principles of Extension Teaching serves as a key component of a larger course on Extension Outreach and Education. Designed for busy learners, it offers a brief, engaging, and interactive experience that reinforces essential concepts for effective community education.

Job Aide:
VMS User's Guide

The Volunteer Management System (VMS) User’s Guide is a comprehensive instructional manual developed to support volunteers and program administrators in using the VMS platform. This digital system is essential for logging volunteer and continuing education hours, managing events, coordinating projects, and facilitating communication across UC Master Gardener programs.

eLearning Course:
Invasive Species Scout Training

The UC Master Gardener Program, in partnership with the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), developed the Invasive Species Scout Project to recruit and train volunteers in early detection and reporting of invasive pests. An interactive eLearning course supports this effort by introducing the threats invasive species pose and emphasizing the vital role volunteers play in protecting California’s natural and agricultural resources.

Current Accessibility Status

This project showcase a mix of accessible and non-accessible content:

  • Accessible artifacts have been designed and developed with accessibility standards in mind, including proper heading structure, alternative text for images, keyboard navigation support, and sufficient color contrast.

  • Legacy or skill-demonstration artifacts may not fully meet accessibility requirements but are included to showcase specific instructional design competencies and technical skills developed during my studies.
